There are numerous benefits to our Zumba Gold program, many of which are felt after the very first class.  With ongoing participation, everyone has the opportunity to define their own goals and reach them while having fun at the same time.

Physical Actvity and Health – Older Adult

  • Older adults can benefit from regular physical activity
  • Physical activity does not need to be strenuous to achieve health benefits
  • Older adults should consult a physician before beginning a new physical activity program
  • The loss of strength and stamina attributed to aging is in part caused by reduced physical activity
  • Inactivity increases with age.  By 75, about one in three men and one in two women engage in no physical activity
  • Social support from family and friends has been consistently and positively related to regular activity
